As a union, we’ve been fighting for more than just our schools and more than just our District… we’re fighting for the conditions our students and families need to thrive. That’s why SDEA is collaborating with union educators across the state and with community allies here in San Diego.
ACCE and other community allies are organizing a Week of Action this week building up to May Day 2026. This includes learning about how to organize across entire communities, including but not limited to efforts to organize general strikes. As educators, we have specific legal limits around when and how we strike. But that doesn’t stop us from standing with our communities: By showing up, learning, and taking action together.
