Have You Talked to Your AR?
If you are an SDEA member and have questions about your rights, your first step is to talk to your site Association Representative (AR) with your questions and concerns. Your AR will work with you determine whether it is appropriate to initiate the grievance process. Working with your AR is a crucial component of strengthening union capacity at your school. It is possible that other members at the site may be experiencing problems similar to yours, and your AR is the best person to identify these patterns and get SDEA staff involved if necessary. If you are not sure who your AR is, call the SDEA office at 619-283-4411.
